This was written after a few days of mandated ‘social distancing’ measures as an observation of the irony of a situation which is intended to protect us from the likelihood of contagion, but has resulted in us now living in far closer proximity to one another than before.
I wrote this after an ill-fated shopping trip in mid-March. What I found most interesting was how people’s behaviours were very different depending on what their particular shopping mission was.
This writing was the result of a rather unnerving experience in a local supermarket in early March, when people were just starting to feel rather jumpy about COVID-19. A silly situation which vaguely escalated for no logical reason.
